Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated on the 3rd Monday in January each year. It is appropriate that this year his celebration falls on his actual birthday and 2018 marks the 50 year anniversary of his death. He was a Baptist minister and social activist who dedicated his life seeking equal right for all regardless of their colour, religion or social background. He is fondly remembered for his " I have a dream speech" speech. Today, we will remember him at our school assemblies, by displaying many of his quotes around the school and discussing his life in many classes.
