PressPass 2024 TY Journalism

Massive congratulations to the MCC recipients of the TY awards in the Newbrands Ireland PressPass 2024 TY Young Journalist's Competition. Philip Walker's exceptional sport article, "Karate King," secured the coveted 1st prize in the Sport category. In addition Fianna McCool, Leah Henry, Ava McIntyre, Kaoirse Doherty, and Jeorga McLaughlin clinched the second prize for their newspaper, "TY Times 2024." Aine deCourcey also shone brightly, claiming the 3rd prize for her Sport feature, "Teenage Kicks." The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 17th, at the Aviva Stadium. Professor Michael Foley commended the students, remarking, "The future of journalism is in good hands." Well done to all participants for their outstanding achievements!
