Isolation Procedures for persons with Covid 19 symptoms
Students and staff that have symptoms of Covid 19 should not attend school.
If a student displays symptoms the following actions will take place:
· The students will be accompanied to an isolation area beside the meeting room.
· The accompanying person will maintain a distance of 2m from the student.
· Both should be wearing face coverings.
· Extra masks will be available from the office if required.
· The student’s parents will be contacted.
· A member of the student’s household will be asked to bring him/her home.
· The student’s parent/guardian will be asked to contact their GP.
· The student will exit the building by the adjacent door.
· When the student has left the isolation area will be cleaned thoroughly.
If a member of staff displays symptoms the following actions will take place:
· The staff member will be accompanied to the isolation area by a member of staff.
· The accompanying person will maintain a distance of 2m from the staff member.
· Both will be expected to be wearing face coverings.
· Extra masks will be available from the office if required.
· If the staff member is considered fit to go home (s)he will be directed to do so.
· If the staff member is too unwell to go home a staff member will call 999.
· The area will be cleaned thoroughly when the person leaves.
A review of how this procedure operated will be conducted as soon as is practical after the person has left the building. Where better procedures are identified they will be adopted and staff informed accordingly.
