All First Years will create a personal book called ‘This is Me’. Students can pick whatever topic they want. This is an opportunity for self directed learning facilitated by the teachers.
It is based on a JSCP initiative called ‘Make a Book’ and will be anchored in SPHE and English. It is a cross curricular project (SPHE, English, History, Art...etc) with a focus on a sense of self and belonging.
This can be presented in any format...eg: written extracts, blog, podcast, TikTok, video, portfolio, painting, drawing, game...etc
Also, all junior students have been given a Keyword notebook, which includes sections for different subject areas.
Lastly, all juniors will be completing a creative writing project before Halloween and again at Christmas.
