Moville Community College is awarded Health Promoting School Award 2019
On Friday 5th of April Health Promoting Schools Leader Anne McAteer came to our school to learn about the work the committee have been doing this year. She listened to and interviewed the committee about their work in highlighting the New Food Pyramid, Their Food For Thought Campaign at assembly, the material on the Noticeboard and the Healthy Eating Policy introduced by our committee to The Board of Management.
After her meeting , she took a tour of the school environment and saw first hand all the posters promoting the theme of healthy eating, the noticeboard and the new food pyramid created with the help of Ms Gallagher’s C.S.P.E class in both the upper and lower buildings. At the end of her visit she informed us that our school would be receiving full recognition for our progress in the area of Healthy Eating.
On Tuesday 9th April Ms. McGuinness and some members of the committee attended a HPS Share and Celebrate Day where they officially received the Health Promoting Schools Award 2019 and the official HPS flag. The committee would like to thank all staff and students who helped them in their endeavour to win the award.
