International Happiness Day @ Moville Community College

Today marked International Happiness Day.The day started with a quote at assembly "Do something today that your future self will thank you for". Later on, "Happiness bags" were distributed to all LC classes and staff. The Happiness bags were a joint effort of Cycle Against Suicide Committee, Student Council, T.Y. Development Education students and some really helpful boys from Class McDaid (1B). At lunch time, treats and jokes were handed out to all students to mark the day.Thanks to all the students and many staff who made this all possible. Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day @ Moville CC

It is World Down Syndrome day on Wednesday 21st March. This year we are encouraging students around the globe to wear mismatched/odd socks to show your support and to raise awareness of Down Syndrome, because our differences are what makes us great.

Flag Raising for Thomas Magher Foundation

On Friday 16 March Moville Community College Students held a flag raising ceremony to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the Irish flag for the Thomas Magher foundation.

Development Education: Human Trafficking

Danielle Bonner visited our school today as part of the TY Development Education programme. She did two workshops today with TY on Human Trafficking.It was a very informative and powerful workshop.These workshops are being organised through the Stop Human Trafficking Donegal Group and funded by the HSE. Danielle will return to the school on Thursday 15 March to talk to some Fifth Year students.

Brian McDermott and Neven Maguire visit MCC

This afternoon Moville Community College had the honour of welcoming two esteemed chefs into our school. Chef Brian McDermott brought a copy of his new book 'Brian McDermott's Donegal Table that will be officially launched later this evening in the Redcastle Hotel. Brian brought with him Chef Neven Maguire who assisted with the cookery demonstration and presentation of the book. Principal Anthony Doogan welcomes Brian McDermott and Neven Maguire to Moville Community College. Brian spoke to the students about the creation of a book and how proud we should be in Donegal of our fresh produce. Brian McDermott and Neven Maguire to visit MCC

Moville Community College are delighted to welcome Moville based chef Brian McDermott, along with Chef Neven Maguire to the school on Wednesday 7th March from 3.45pm. Neven Maguire and Brian McDermott Brian will be kindly presenting a copy of his new book 'Brian McDermott's Donegal Table' to the Home Economics Department in the school ahead of the official book launch that evening at 7.30pm in the Redcastle Hotel.
