On Wednesday 21st November 2017, Moville Community College was honoured to have esteemed poet Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin to visit as a guest speaker to the Leaving Certificate English students. Eiléan was welcomed to the school with music and was presented with a piece of artwork inspired by her poetry. She held an interesting question and answer session on her poetry with the Leaving Cert English students.
Many thanks to everyone who supported and helped make this years this years Christmas Shoe Box Appeal so successful. Collectively we donated 118 boxes. These boxes will be distributed in Eastern Europe in time for Christmas.
Max O' Sullivan and Rhys Roberts with their All Ireland BJJ medals. One World Week runs from November 18th-26th, 2017. The theme of this week is "Peace and the Sustainable Development Goals". It is run with the support of the National Youth Council of Ireland. The school has been fortunate to be awarded a mini-grant to help subsidise the cost of planned activities during this week in our school.This year's theme ties in perfectly with work being done with TY in Development Education classes.
